From narcotics interdiction along Maryland's busiest highways to community-first policing in our neighborhoods, Sheriff Lewis has built a reputation for integrity, transparency, and results. Under his leadership, the Sheriff's Office has grown into a modern, professional force that families count on.

Strengthened public safety and helped make Wicomico County safer than ever before
Built strong partnerships with community organizations, schools, churches, businesses, and local leaders
Expanded neighborhood watch and youth outreach initiatives throughout the county
Implemented Offender Watch in Wicomico County following a tragic child abduction and murder case
Successfully advocated for Offender Watch to become a statewide system across Maryland
Advocated nationally for responsible gun rights and constitutional protections
Represented thousands of law enforcement officers nationwide on public safety policy issues
Partnered with the DEA on international missions to Colombia to combat the heroin epidemic
Traveled to Mexico's Sinaloa Valley to study cartel operations and strengthen local enforcement strategies
Worked extensively on Homeland Security initiatives through the National Sheriffs' Association Homeland Security Consortium
Advocated for resources, training, and best practices for over 2,300 deputies statewide
